Segments and several domains

Ta treść nie jest jeszcze dostępna w Twoim języku.

A shop that sells in several countries often runs a store per country: under a path (myshop.com/de), on its own domain (myshop.de), or both. A segment is one such part of your shop, or any other split you care about, such as B2B and B2C. Every tracking page can then be narrowed to one segment with the Segment control beside the date range.

  1. From the page. If your pages call qm("segment", key), the visit belongs to the first segment its pages sent. The Quomerce Shopify app does this for you with the store’s Shopify market, and an IdoSell panel with several shops does it with the market you name for each shop.
  2. From the routes set on the Setup page: a host and an optional path prefix, matched against the page the visit landed on. /de matches /de and /de/cart, never /delivery; an exact host beats *.myshop.com, and a longer path beats a shorter one.
  3. Otherwise the visit is in No segment.

The whole visit counts toward one segment, its checkout and order included, even when the checkout page has no store prefix.

qm("segment", "de"); // a lower-case key: letters, digits, - and _

Open Setup → Segments. Each segment has a key (it cannot change later), a name, an optional currency, and any number of routes. Saving a route on a host your site does not yet allow adds the host to the allowed domains, so the new store’s events are accepted. The card also suggests segments from the last 7 days: keys your pages sent, hosts, and paths that look like a locale (/pl, /en-ca).

Pages, Heatmaps and Forms join one page across segments by removing the route’s prefix, so /de/products/mug and /sk/products/mug are one /products/mug, with its split by segment.

Revenue is always in the site’s currency. An order in another currency is converted at the European Central Bank’s reference rate of the day before it (Friday’s for a Monday order). An order in a currency the ECB does not publish still counts as an order and is shown as “not converted”, never as zero. The Overview’s Segments table also shows each segment’s orders in its own currency.

Each of your domains keeps its own cookies, so a visitor who moves from myshop.pl to myshop.de is counted as a new visitor there. Links between your own domains are never counted as a traffic source.
