Auto mode

auto is the default commerce mode. Quomerce detects commerce events from two sources, without slowing the page: your GA4 events and your own rules. On Shopify, the Quomerce app sends them instead.
Quomerce does not guess. A page’s type, a button’s label or a cart request is never counted as a step by itself, so a step your GA4 does not send is empty in Quomerce too, until you add a rule.
1. Your GA4 dataLayer
Section titled “1. Your GA4 dataLayer”If your shop sends GA4 e-commerce events through gtag() or Google Tag Manager, Quomerce reads them from the dataLayer, including events pushed before the script loaded.

A coupon on checkout, shipping, payment or purchase events is recorded as an accepted coupon. If your setup uses another array name, set dataLayer name in Analytics settings.
2. Your own rules
Section titled “2. Your own rules”In Analytics settings → Commerce events → Your rules, add up to 50 rules. Each says: when this click or this successful request happens, this event happened.
| Event | Example rule |
|---|---|
| Added to cart | Click, button text Dodaj do koszyka |
| Removed from cart | Click, button text Remove |
| Started checkout | Request, path starts with /api/checkout |
| Submitted payment info | Click, CSS selector [data-payment-method] |
| Went to payment | Request, path matches ^/api/pay/ |
Request rules can also require a method (GET, POST…). A rule fires at most once per page load. An action seen by several sources is sent once.
